Manchester United facing two fresh obstacles in race for Erling Haaland

Manchester United are facing a £12million agent fee to complete the signing of Erling Haaland, according to a report.

United are Ole Gunnar Solskjaer are understood to be confident of winning the race to sign the RB Salzburg next month after the Norwegian flew out to meet the player in Austria last Friday.

The 19-year-old is reported to have a €20m (£17m) exit clause in his contract, but the prolific striker’s price tag is much higher than that with his agent Mino Raiola looking for a January auction.

Raiola, who also represents Paul Pogba and Romelu Lukaku, is not one of United’s favourite people and add into the mix that he is demanding a huge agent fee to get the 28-goal Norwegian to Old Trafford, then the deal looks increasingly more complex.

The Sun “understands a figure of £12m has been quoted by Raiola” in a deal which would see Haaland loaned back to Salzburg for the remainder of the season.

Haaland, enjoying a breakthrough season, is a man in demand with respected Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano confirming Salzburg had received approaches from United, Leipzig, Dortmund and Serie A giants Juventus.

And now, according to Italian journalist Alfredo Pedulla, AC Milan have entered proceedings by offering the teenager a salary of €5.5m-a-year, which would make him instantly one of the club’s top earners.

An enquiry by Paolo Maldini reportedly led to a huge offer of a five-year contract worth a total of €27.5m in total, as cited by SempreMilan.

Tuttosport claimed on Wednesday morning that Milan were still awaiting the response of Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who is their primary target, but that if he were to decline then the club would pursue a move for Haaland.
