CHELSEA’S GOALKEEPER AND GABRIEL MAGALHAES LINKS QUESTIONED

A bit weird if we buy Magalhaes, I did not hear we were linked with him before. And I think for centre backs, we kinda need a more or less experienced figure to lead our defense. Magalhaes is only 22 and currently we already have plenty of centre backs. Money should be spent somewhere else (GK, striker). Let’s just see whether this is just a rumour or if this will materialize.

Just read an article on TT that Rooney wasn’t convinced on de Gea in the beginning but de Gea then became no:1 at United for already quite longtime. Would it be the case for Kepa too? Would he improve at Chelsea despite what we’ve already seen 2 seasons? Would Lampard give Kepa another chance next season?

I think we should take advantage on Donnarumma’s situation. He will be out of contract 2021. Like what Real did to us with Courtois. Donnarumma hasn’t signed an extension yet and Milan would not want to lose him for free.

Aindro I also feel we too inexperienced at centre half, that’s always been the main one area where you need an old head, maybe shift Azpliqueta there. But then again we also need someone taller as crosses are our weak point.

Blaze

Of those we are getting linked with in the main there does though seem a trend towards younger players?

999 agreed. I don’t think anybody will take anything seriously until the contract is signed. But it’s just fun to look on transfer rumours in this kind of situation where the competition is halted (temporarily).

Blaze yeah, we are really weak in defending crosses. Rudiger is 1.9 though but Christensen is not rough enough even though very technical and Tomori is not tall enough. Zouma is big but not technical enough. I really like Azpi as CB eventhough he is not tall, but we then will have to play 3 CB like Conte’s system if Azpi is to play CB. I still think we need somebody experienced, commanding if we are to buy a new CB.

And concerning transfers, we still have soon out-of-contract situation with Willian, Pedro and Giroud.

STRATEGY FOR CHELSEA TO KEEP WILLIAN SUGGESTED AS SANCHO LINKS DEBATED

If Frank really wants to retain Willian with the Club understandably only wanting to offer Willian a 2 year contract perhsps a way to beat the deadlick might be what Inter intend to do with Giroud who wants a 3 year contract with Inter ready to offer Giroud a two year contract with an option of a third year.

I would really hate to see Willian in a Spurs shirt.

Sancho will probably end up at United cause they willing to match the transfer costs while Chelsea are not, pity.

Blueowner

Blueowner: while Sancho without any doubt starts to become a great player, I think would be unwise to be spend £100 million only on 1 player. We have certain areas to improve: GK, LB, striker that are more priority than getting Sancho as we’ll have Ziyech next season. I would better try to develop Hudson-Odoi as the lad clearly has enormous potential. We also have Pulisic who was good in Bundesliga but hasn’t really shown consistency in Premier League.

For me the biggest chunk of our transfer kitty should go to buy a new striker and a GK. I don’t think we can retain Giroud and I don’t think Michy will improve anymore. Same as Kepa, it’s been 2 seasons he is with Chelsea and he looks really far below Cech’s or Courtois’s quality. We need a good GK to succeed.

999, I would like to see Willian staying, he’s shown better contribution and consistency recently under FL. But if he rejects 2 year contract, which is already generous as Chelsea have a policy for 30+ players, I think we should see this opportunity to promote our youth such as Anjorin.

LIVERPOOL TOLD WHO TO PICK BETWEEN DEMBELE AND SANCHO

If we spend 80-90 mil for Dembele then I would prefer doing that for Sancho spending a bit more but he is a better player and fits to our system. Besides former after 2 years in Barca cannot cost more than 50-60 mil.

MAN UTD URGED TO MAKE MOVE FOR MCGINN

I’ve been laughed at for saying this before but happy to repeat it (and it’s probably more relevant now that we have signed Bruno): John McGinn is the Villa player we should be looking at. May not become world class but comfortably better than Pereira, Lingard and even Matic despite his mini revival of late

homerjay540

Yeah I like McGinn a lot actually. Not sure he’s any better than Fred though?
We need to strengthen in our areas of weakness. Right now that’s a right sided forward and someone to bang in 30 goals a season (Harry Kane)

LEFT-BACK WORTH THE MONEY FOR UNITED?

Bellingham, Sancho and Kane would be a decent start to the window 😉

homerjay540

Agreed Homerjay540 – throw in Davies for LB and we’ve got a top level team right there.

Sympathy for the Devils

Unfortunately there’s now way Bayern will sell Davies. He has made that LB position his own pushing Alaba into the middle.
Considering Bayern were happy to pay €80 million for Lucas Hernandez they won’t sell Davies for anything less than that.
If anything possibly Alaba will move but if he comes to England I reckon he’d want to link up with Guardiola again

homerjay540

Luke Shaw has been in very good form and looks like Williams is pushing him on so think we’re ok there for now.
Sancho is the main one really. Anything else is a bonus.

happyhurling

Shaw isn’t good enough for a Top Club – offensively he’s dire compared to Robertson as an example. Davies will be tough but if we throw 60m at them then I think they’ll buckle, considering the crazy profit they’ll make and the fact that they have players for that position.

Think this summer the club should take advantage of a lot of uncertainty in the football world and bring in as many big names that they can. Sancho, Kane/Haaland, Bellington and a bonus of Davies would be superb. Imagine if we nabbed De Ligt from Juventus too considering their financial issues?!

De Gea
AWB – De Ligt – Maguire – Davies
Fred – Pogba
Sancho – Bruno Fernandes – Rashford
Haaland

Martial, Greenwood, James, McTominay, Shaw, Williams in reserve… now that’s a team I’d enjoy watching week in week out!

Sympathy for the Devils

Whilst it’s a (very) long shot to say we’ll win the league, the signs at this very point in time are more positive than negative; mostly due to:

– Pretty much all our signings making a good impact on the team (especially Bruno Fernandes, AWB and Maguire)
– Fred, Rashford and Martial have come on leaps and bounds this season and finally look like Top 3 / Championship challenging players.
– The squad of the team is still relatively low so there is a lot of potential to get better.

If we sign the right players (Sancho for RW and Davies for LB, plus another AM who wouldn’t mind rotating with Bruno) and we keep our other players that we want to keep and get rid of more deadwood (Jones, Rojo, Sanchez and Lingard out, with Smalling coming back and Angel Gomes & Garner given a chance in the No.10 / midfield role) we would have a good, young squad there.

Sympathy for the Devils

I do agree that we’re not far off.

My squad for next year that I think could challenge for a top 3 place.

GK – De Gea / Henderson
RB – AWB / Dalot
LB – Shaw / Williams
CB – Maguire / Bailey
CB – Koulibaly / Lindelof / Tuanzebe
CM – McTominey / Matic
CM – Fred / Bellingham / Garner
AM – Ferdnandes / Mata
RW – Sancho / James / Gomes
LW – Rashford / Martial / Chong
ST – Kane / Greenwood

In – Kane (£120m), Sancho (£100m), Koulibaly (£80m), Bellingham (£30m)- Current Market = £330m outlay. However, due to this pandemic, I think a lot of clubs around the world are going to be financially hurting when it comes time for transfers and only the super rich are actually going to be buying. The transfer market is about to change with all of the selling clubs knocking off about a quarter of the price.

Out – Pogba (£100m), Lingard (£15m), Peiria (£10m), Jones (£10m), Rojo (£5m) Sanchez (0) – Current Market = £150m recuperated in sales.

Net spend = £180m. (However, knock off a quarter due to the economic impact of the pandemic)

But, and this is a big but, if Man Utd got Champion’s League football next season, I’d prefer United didn’t buy Kane & Koulibaly and instead tried to sign Mbappe at any cost. It’s a farfetched dream signing, yes, but when he leaves PSG is the one and only opportunity in his entire career that we’ll ever have a chance of acquiring him. So based on that, I’d hope United were at least jostling against Liverpool, Man City and Madrid for his signature when that time comes.
