Man Utd finally set to offload Louis Van Gaal flop

Manchester United full-back Matteo Darmian is in talks with Valencia over a move to LaLiga, claims a report.

The 29-year-old has been at Old Trafford since 2015, but he has played only 92 games in four seasons, with his Premier League appearances dropping season by season.

In fact he appeared only six times last term and played only 84 minutes in the league under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer.

His time at Old Trafford has looked over on several occasions with Inter, Juventus and Roma all linked with him in recent years, but now Sky Sport Italia report that Valencia are keen on him.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Darmian’s representatives met with Valencia directors in Milan on Wednesday and a summer switch to the Mestalla is on the agenda for the Italy international.

Apparently Manchester United want around €10million for Darmian, who was an €18million reecruit from Torino four years ago.

Darmian and Antonio Valencia added their names to the Guinness Book of World Records in a challenge set by one of the club’s commercial partners in March.

The full-back pairing earned themselves recognition for beating the world record for the number of goals scored from a corner in 60 seconds.

Valencia and Darmian netted six goals – beating the previous best of four – while Brazilian midfielder Fred failed to match his teammates’ scores.
