Manchester United have been given a clear path to sign a €70m Chelsea star this summer, according to the latest reports.
Spanish outlet Diario Gol state that Chelsea have slapped a €70million price tag on winger Willian amid repeated speculation he could leave Stamford Bridge in the current transfer window.
However, they also claim that Barcelona – who are one of the clubs reportedly interested – are not willing to pay that price and are only willing to part with €40m for the 29-year-old.
Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho is willing to pay the full price tag to land Willian, who he worked with during his time at Chelsea.
Diario Gol go on to state that Barca star Lionel Messi is against the Catalan giants spending big money on Willian as he does not see the forward as a long-term solution.
Talking about his future recently, Willian admitted he has heard about links with Barca but is unsure if will leave Chelsea or not.
“Coutinho and Paulinho besides being fantastic players are two great friends of mine,” Willian told Mundo Deportivo.
“He (Coutinho) has an extraordinary quality, he’s making a great World Cup and I’m sure he will continue to do so.
“I’m following the information about Barcelona on the internet but I still do not know anything.
“Now is not the time to talk about that because I am very focused on the World Cup.”
