Man Utd given permission to open talks with £18m Southampton ace

Manchester United have reportedly been given permission to open talks with Southampton midfielder Mario Lemina over an £18million move.

United jetted off on the first leg of their pre-season tour this week when they headed to Australia but that hasn’t stopped the search for new signings, as Ole Gunnar Solskjaer looks to further strengthen his squad for the new season.

New boys Aaron Wan Bissaka and Daniel James were part of the travelling party and there could be a new addition on the tour soon, with The Times reporting that the Red Devils have stepped up their chase for Saints star Lemina.

The report states that United have been given permission to speak to Lemina, who would command a fee of up to £18 million, having moved to St Mary’s for £15.4m from Juventus in 2017.

Arsenal are also said to be keen on the Gabon international, whose dynamic game appears to point to further question marks over Paul Pogba’s imminent Old Trafford future.
