Manchester United are determined to beat Chelsea in the £120million battle to sign Jadon Sancho this summer, according to reports.

Bundesliga giants Borussia Dortmund are said to be ready to sell the England winger, if the price is right, and they are bracing themselves for a Premier League bidding war.

Chelsea have already registered their interest in the 19-year-old, especially with experienced duo Pedro and Willian both expected to quit Stanford Bridge this summer.

United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward has already made it clear they are ready to back Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and spend big this summer and Sancho is one of their prime targets.

The former Manchester City youngster, who is also admired by Liverpool, has scored 12 goals and provided 13 assists this season and has firmly established himself as one of the best young talents in European football.

For their part, Chelsea are also expected to be very active in the upcoming market, having failed to sign a single player in January despite getting their transfer ban lifted.

But United remain favourites, given that they have established strong links with Dortmund, and are very confident of luring Sancho to Old Trafford.

Meanwhile, Birmingham boss Pep Clotet has confirmed that his side are fully aware of the interest building in a Manchester United and Liverpool target.

Several reports since the turn of the year have claimed that United were leading the case to land 16-year-old midfielder Jude Bellingham, but it would also appear that Jurgen Klopp’s men, as well as Arsenal and Manchester City, are also keen on the player. Read more…
