Man Utd in advanced talks as new €30m left-back target emerges

Manchester United have made contact with Valencia star Jose Luis Gaya over a proposed summer transfer, according to a report.
Jose Mourinho is believed to have made a new left-back one of his summer priorities and the 22-year-old Spaniard is now top of United’s shopping list, ahead of Alex Sandro.
Rai Sport report United have identified Gaya as their number one target to replace Matteo Darmian, who seems likely to leave for Juventus in the summer.
The Italian source claim United are in advanced negotiations with the player’s entourage.
Gaya, who is under contract until 2020, has made 29 appearances this season, making four assists and he was linked with Arsenal last summer.
Gaya’s release clause was revealed to be €50milllion last summer, but according to Plaza Deportiva, Gaya’s release clause will drop to €30million this summer.
That is of course considerably less than the €70million Juventus are demanding for Sandro and Mourinho is thought to be have been swayed by Gaya’s price tag.
Ashley Young has been Mourinho’s preferred left-back this season and he did a stellar job on Mo Salah in the weekend’s win over Liverpool, but Mourinho is looking for some competition and he remains unconvinced by Luke Shaw.
