Reported Manchester United and Leicester City defensive target Merih Demiral will not be allowed to leave Juventus this month, it is claimed.
Demiral has been linked with a number of Premier League clubs after a slow start to his Juventus career, as he only managed one appearance for them until the start of December.
With Caglar Soyuncu being linked with Manchester City, Leicester had identified his fellow Turkish international Demiral as a potential replacement.
The Foxes were preparing a bid of more than €40m for the former Sassuolo man, believing he would be the perfect successor if Soyuncu was poached by City.
Man Utd have also long been linked with Demiral, initially as an alternative to Harry Maguire in the summer, but now as someone to compliment the Englishman.
However, Demiral’s fortunes have improved recently, with the 21-year-old starting each of Juventus’ last four matches, thanks in part to Matthijs De Ligt’s struggles.
According to Calciomercato, Juventus chiefs have been impressed enough with what they have seen from Demiral to firmly rule out his exit in January.
Coupled with the fact that Giorgio Chiellini is yet to return from a long-term injury, Juventus would be left short of depth if they allowed the in form Demiral to depart.
