Champions League trophy TEAMtalk

The draw for the Champions League quarter-finals has been made and it has thrown up some brilliant ties.

Tottenham and Manchester City will face each other in an all-English quarter-final of the Champions League next month.

Last year’s beaten finalists Liverpool received arguably the most favourable draw after being paired with Porto, while Manchester United face a daunting tie against Barcelona.

United and Liverpool will meet in the semi-finals if they reach the last four, with Tottenham or Manchester City facing the winner of the quarter-final between Ajax and Juventus.

City won both of their Premier League ties with Tottenham last season and also beat Mauricio Pochettino’s side at Wembley earlier in this campaign.

Manchester United’s tie against Barcelona means interim manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will enjoy another trip to the Nou Camp, where he scored the winner in United’s Champions League final win over Bayern Munich in 1999.

Quarter-final draw:

Ajax v Juventus
Liverpool v Porto
Tottenham v Manchester City
Barcelona v Manchester United (*United to play 1st leg at home)

Ties to be played:

Quarter-finals, first leg: April 9/10
Quarter-finals, second leg: April 16/17

Semi-final draw:

Tottenham or Man City v Ajax or Juventus

Barcelona or Man Utd v Liverpool or Porto

Ties to be played:

Semi-finals, first leg: April 30/May 1
Semi-finals, second leg: May 7/8

*United will play their tie against Barcelona at home first so that they and Manchester City do not play their second legs at home in the same week.
