Manchester United have reportedly seen a deadline day bid for highly-rated Watford winger Ismaila Sarr rejected.
MEN Sport reports that United made an offer of an initial season-long loan with the option to buy at £25million, but Watford are holding out for an outright permanent deal.
The Championship outfit reportedly value the 22-year-old at around £45m, and would be willing to sell at that price.
Liverpool registered an interest in the attacker earlier in the window. However, United joined the race after it became clear that Jadon Sancho was not Old Trafford bound.
The Red Devils do, however, appear to be closing in on the signings of two 18-year-old wingers in Facundo Pellistri and Amad Traore
The duo are being tipped to arrive from from Penarol and Atalanta respectively.
United will still have the chance to return for Sarr, however, as the deadline for Football League clubs is not until October 16.
The Red Devils will have to sign the winger by Tuesday October 6. That is if he is to be registered for their upcoming Champions League campaign.
As for more incomings, both Alex Telles and Edinson Cavani are expected to complete their moves on Monday.
Everton make move for United star
Everton have identified two potential targets as they consider adding competition for Jordan Pickford, according to reports on deadline day.
Pickford has been number one for club and country for a few years, but some high profile errors have put his chances of retaining those roles in doubt.
Carlo Ancelotti has regularly defended his goalkeeper, but according to reports, he may want to sign another player in that position before the transfer deadline.
Fortunately for Pickford, Ancelotti is not eyeing a replacement for him. However, he wants a reliable backup to keep him on his toes instead.
At present, Jonas Lossl – who spent the second half of last season back on loan at Huddersfield – and 20-year-old Joao Virginia are the only other goalkeepers in the squad.
Therefore, Everton want to bring in another option to deputise for Pickford.
