Two more Premier League teams eyeing up Chelsea target Alex Telles

Chelsea may have a battle on their hands if they hope to sign Porto’s Alex Telles after two Premier League rivals showed an interest in the left-back.

The Blues are set to be busy in the upcoming transfer window with Frank Lampard looking to strengthen his squad.

Hakim Ziyech and Timo Werner have already been secured, while a deal for Kai Havertz is reportedly edging closer.

The Blues are also keen to bring in a new left-back, with Leicester’s Ben Chilwell their number one choice. They are understood to be ready to spend big to land their man, however Brendan Rodgers insists he is not for sale.

Therefore, Lampard has picked out Telles as a potential alternative. The Brazilian enjoyed a hugely productive season as Porto won the Primeira Liga, scoring 11 goals and assisting eight.

Chelsea may have to move quickly if their interest is serious though, with Manchester United and Manchester City now believed to be keen. That is according to a report on the Daily Express, cited on the Evening Standard.

United have Luke Shaw as their starting left-back, but could look to upgrade. With a return to the Champions League almost achieved, they will also need depth in that position.

Brandon Williams provides backup at the moment, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is said to be unconvinced by the youngster.

Meanwhile, City are preparing to bring a number of new faces with defenders prioritised. Guardiola’s side were vulnerable at the back at times this season, which contributed to them surrendering their title.

The likes of Kalidou Koulibaly and Nathan Ake have been linked, and Telles has become their latest target.

Left-back in particular has been a problem position for them. Benjamin Mendy has struggled with injury during his time at the Etihad, while Oleksandr Zinchenko has also spent time on the sidelines this term.

Angelino, who was re-signed last summer, failed to impress and was moved on again in January, leaving City short of options.

Telles is out of contract next year, meaning Porto could look to cash in over the coming weeks.

He could be available at a bargain price too, with some reports suggesting £25million would be enough.

CHELSEA TEMPTED BY ANOTHER BUNDESLIGA STAR

Chelsea could look to sign a third player from Germany this summer.

Werner is a done deal and Havertz is thought to be on his way, now a Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder is now said to be of interest.
