Man Utd, Man City use Kroos to make enquiry over €150m Spain star

Both Manchester City and Manchester United have used Toni Kroos to make ‘secret enquiries’ over a €150m Real Madrid star, a report claims.

According to Spanish outlet Diario Gol, both Manchester clubs are keen on landing star Spain forward Marco Asensio as well as Kroos.

Kroos is currently at the World Cup with Germany and struggled in his opening game as the defending champions lost 1-0 to Mexico.

However, Jose Mourinho and Pep Guardiola are both reportedly keen on the former Bayern man – valued at a reported £50m – despite the imminent arrivals of Fred and Jorginho respectively.

Meanwhile, Don Balon claimed that Chelsea had a £132million bid turned down for Asensio in March, whilst also claiming the month before that City boss Guardiola was ready to fork out £131million as he was ‘in love’ with the player.

And his agent Horacio Gaggioli has said little to quell the talk recently.

“Madrid have received two offers for Marco Asensio, up to €150m, but the club rejected them,” he told Cadena SER.

“You can imagine that they come from England because they can afford it without any problems. They could even raise it.”
