Man Utd midfielder urged to snub Inter Milan and join Everton

Everton youngster Nathangelo Markelo has urged one of Manchester United’s rising young talents to move to Goodison Park.

Tahith Chong is set to become a free agent at the end of the current season, with no contract extension currently agreed between him and United.

The Manchester Evening News claims that the Red Devils have previously tried to extend Chong’s contract, but that Serie A giants Inter Milan and Juventus are ready to pounce on the 20-year-old.

However, Markelo has urged his Holland international team-mate to make the move to Merseyside instead.

Versatile defender Markelo, 21, is also out of contract himself this summer but has been an ever-present for David Unsworth’s Under-23 side this season and is expected to feature in their next Premier League 2 fixture against Derby at Goodison Park on Monday night.

However, Chong still appears more likely to head to Italy, with Inter offering a salary of €1.5m per season initially, with a view to that going up to €2m plus bonuses.
