Man Utd nightmare as LaLiga heavyweight looks to swipe Sancho

LaLiga giants Barcelona have reportedly joined Manchester United in the race to sign Jadon Sancho from Borussia Dortmund this summer.

The England international winger has been in outstanding form for the Bundesliga outfit this season, notching 17 goals and adding 19 assists from just 35 appearances across all competitions.

It has already been claimed that he has agreed to provisional personal terms over a switch to Old Trafford, although no transfer agreement has been finalised as United hope that Dortmund’s will lower their hefty £87m asking price.

With the Red Devils stalling, German outlet SportBILD, as per sportslens, reports that the Catalan giants have joined the pursuit of the 20-year-old and are expected to compete with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men to land one of the hottest properties in European football.

The publication has also mentioned Dortmund’s interest in Barca youngster Ansu Fati and suggest that the Blaugrana could land Sancho for a reduced fee, should the Nou Camp graduate head in the opposite direction.

Quique Setien’s is looking to revamp his side this summer and reports have claimed that Barca are looking to sell off several of their top assets in a bid to bring Neymar back from PSG and sign Inter Milan forward Lautaro Martinez.

However, it would now appear that they may have switched attentions to a cheaper alternative to Neymar in Sancho instead.

United’s best hope is that Sancho’s main priority this summer is to secure a return to the Premier League, having started his career in Manchester City’s academy, and that still looks the likeliest outcome.

And former Red Devils star Ferdinand is excited for what the future has in store for United, and believes that if United can make a big-money signing and retain the players already at the club – particularly Pogba – then they will be a force to be reckoned with next season. Read more…
