Manchester United have opened talks with winger Anthony Martial over a new deal, according to reports.

Despite recent speculation that the Frenchman could be sold by Jose Mourinho this summer, The Sun claims that discussion have begun over an extended stay at Old Trafford.

Tottenham, Chelsea, Arsenal, Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with a move for Martial.

Meanwhile, a report last week from the Daily Mail claimed that United are open to the idea of letting Martial leave this summer, but they would prefer him to be sold abroad.

The Manchester Evening News stated that Mourinho is looking to revamp his defence with a £55million move for Tottenham defender Toby Alderweireld.

However, the report claims that Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino wants a forward who can also play on the wing or at No.10 and Spurs may well insist that Martial is thrown into any prospective deal.

Martial arrived in Manchester back in 2015, joining from Monaco in a deal that could rise to £58million.
