Manchester United are reportedly posing a major threat to Real Madrid in their bid to sign Rennes teenage sensation Eduardo Camavinga.
The 17-year-old midfielder is regarded as one of the hottest young properties in European football.
His impressive form, since making his senior debut at the age of 16, has alerted a number of top clubs. That list includes the likes of United, Real and Juventus.
The Red Devils were chasing Camavinga at the start of the summer transfer window. However, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s main focus at that stage was trying to bring in Jadon Sancho.
But now AS, as cited by Sport Witness, claims that United have upped their interest again.
The report states that the Red Devils have already laid the foundations for a potential deal. United are said to view the player as a long-term replacement for Paul Pogba.
Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane remains a massive fan of the youngster, however.
The LaLiga giants were unable to pursue a move this summer duo the financial implications of Covid-19.
And United are hoping that their stronger financial foundations will give them an advantage come January.
United ready huge offer for Real star
Manchester United are ready to pay as much as £90m for Real Madrid centre-back Raphael Varane, claims a report.
United’s horrible start to the season has seen them linked with numerous new defenders.
They conceded three times at home to Crystal Palace and twice against Brighton. United were then humiliated in a 6-1 loss to Tottenham at Old Trafford last weekend.
The club spent £80m on Harry Maguire last summer but there have been major question marks over his partnerships with Victor Lindelof and Eric Bailly. While Maguire’s own form of late has been wobbly, to say the least.
