Man Utd ready to launch second bid for £60m defensive target

Manchester United are reportedly preparing to make a second improved bid for Crystal Palace right-back Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

Palace rejected an initial £40m bid at the weekend and are thought to be holding out for nearer to £60m for the highly-rated defender.

According to Sky Sports, talks are ongoing and United have indicated they will make an improved second offer for the player, who has also been linked with Tottenham.

The 21-year-old, who only made his debut for the Eagles in February 2018, has three years left on his current contract and has made 42 Premier League appearances for a Palace side that finished 12th last season.

The young right-back could become United’s second signing of the summer window, after a £15m (plus £3m add-ons) fee was agreed for Swansea winger Daniel James on June 7.

The report goes on to add that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s men are also back in for Leicester centre-back Harry Maguire, as the United boss looks to revamp his squad in a bid to regain a Champions League spot next season.
