Man Utd set to miss out on €35m target as Barcelona close on move

Barcelona are closing in on sealing a €35million deal for a Manchester United summer target, reports claim.

Lenglet has been suggested as a Manchester United target since featuring against them in the Champions League last season, but the Old Trafford club have suffered a setback in their efforts to bring him to England.

Sevilla are demanding the full €35m release clause for the centre-back, a fee the Manchester Evening News claims that Barca have agreed to pay.

The 23-year-old was reportedly one of eight defenders on Jose Mourinho’s summer wishlist, but now appears likely to be presented as a Barcelona player.

Lenglet has spent a year-and-a-half in Seville after joining from Nancy in his native France. He has been a regular ever since his arrival, making 73 appearances in all competitions.
