Man Utd should ditch over-rated, lazy star; Liverpool destined for global domination

Man Utd readers are calling for the club to sell an over-rated, lazy star, while Liverpool fans think Klopp’s men can dominate world football for years, all in Your Says of the Day.

END OF THE LINE FOR MARTIAL
Martial has got 12 goals and 5 assists in 26 games this season which is actually a pretty good return. He’s infuriating because he could/should do so much more for a guy with his natural ability, Lingard is just infuriating.
hookeddevil
Sorry hooked, overrated, overhyped, extremely limited, virtually no trickery, and a lazy, moody, miserable f*** to boot. Decent dig and some pace sums him up mate. I doubt any top club would touch him if we decided to sell.
jm1502
jm, I don’t disagree with that at all because Martial is one of the most infuriating players I’ve seen. Lingard is bad but Martial would be so good if he could be arsed. He’s a prime example of it not being all about talent – the difference usually lies in the head, not the feet, and Martial’s head is simply not in the right place.

Martial isn’t a 9 for me. Better out wide in a front 3. We need another winger and then we can start to think about replacing players like Martial.
Alfie07
Martial is not a number 9 and never will be. He is a good finisher and cool in front of goal. Throw in his pace and you’d think he’d be perfect for the role but he’s miles away. He doesn’t have the instinct, work ethic or head for a modern day 9. He is better in a front 3 and I even have my doubts about his effectiveness in that set up. I think what we need through the middle is someone who works their nuts off and will make the opposition centre half work. Who is clever and a handful. Doesn’t need to be a 30 goal a season man like Van Nistelrooy but more a player that can gel a front 3 together. A bit like Firminho or Suarez for Liverpool. It may not be a popular choice but I actually think Jimenez from Wolves could do a good job up front for us. But the fee and age make it a nonstarter for me. We need to find a younger version of that type of player from somewhere.
N1xer
jm, again I agree but what I’m saying is that he WOULD be quite good if he had the right attitude (application, effort, will to improve & work hard etc) but he doesn’t and will, therfor, never fulfil his potential.
roygbiv
The fear with Martial is that he’ll go somewhere else and be world class in a couple of years. But, there comes a point where we will have to just put our hands up and say he’s never going to become world class at Old Trafford. If he goes somewhere else and does then we just have to say fair play and well done to the lad.
I think it’s a defining 18 months in his OT career.
happyhurling
Big question marks over Martial despite the fact that this is probably his best season for us so far. Attitude, mentality, work ethic are all questionable. As said above, this will be a defining 18 months in his career full stop. Whether we want to keep him or not, he’ll be a very saleable asset or not depending on the next few months.

TAKING THE POSITIVES AS FRED SHINES AGAIN
OGS is really squeezing the last drops remaining in a weak squad…it’s easy to make him the scapegoat but just look how awful these players are 😭 Mourinho said Sevilla players were better than ours and at that time we had better players than we currently do…f*** this man, how Ole can manage to be so positive is beyond me, I would have gone crazy working with these s***bags before playing one match.
Anyway today was a positive win, if we had a half fit Pogba we would have won this game but we are without our best players and that being said we still managed a useless win at the Etihad. I’ll sleep okay knowing I had no hope before the match but we gave 110% and no one can be faulted (dont get me wrong tho, that 110% is equivalent to city’s 66%)
libanski
Biggest takeaway from that game is that we need two strikers, because we only have one. However, I’m increasingly of the belief that Fred is definitely good enough – hell of an engine.
jm1502
I have to say it was refreshing to see Ole a
shout at Lingard tonight that if he’d lose the ball one more time he’d be “f****** off” and then actually taking him off shortly after. Granted, Lingard shouldn’t be near any team above the Championship at best and Ole has persisted with him way too long but maybe that waste of space will order his new, best friend Mino Raiola to engineer a move ASAP.

Very, very, very proud of the boys after last night, beating City away twice in a short period of time is a brilliant feat. Now watch us lose to Wolves in the PL,where it matters.

KLOPP’S RED MACHINE CAN DOMINATE FOR YEARS
Job done, Klopp’s Red Machine marches on.
But we want more, and have to beat Southampton on Sunday to keep the momentum going
Songman
Lol
AK ye , great goal by ox. He stepped up in the 2nd half.
Songman, ye Alison really is something else mate. Two brilliant saves.
Thought bobby was very good. Hendo again. Salah pen and assist.
19 point cleats is just unbelievable. This team is really out of this world. The progress in just over 4 years is absolutely staggering

A routine away win.
Another 3 points.
Now 19 points clear with everyone on the same games.
It’s not even February yet!!
This is remarkable for any team nevermind the glorious Liverpool teams there’s been down through the decades.

Another game another win.
I thought Alisson & Gomez played the best I thought Fabinho was very very rusty, & Firmino although doing a few great things was poor his passing seemed to be aimed at their players, this could also be said of Salah although a wonderful pass for OX to score.
With us having to play mass defences we now tend to pass the ball around he back a lot which makes the game a tad boring, with this said long may it continue & win games.
liverlad
Great win, but no need to rest on our laurels, we must win on Saturday, anything less is unacceptable.
Keita, Fabinho, Matip and even Ox are all hungry to start, so that should bode well for our high standards and competition within the squad. Same goes for Minamino.
This culture of aiming to win every game must be ingrained even further into the team by Klopp, so that we can win endless big trophies, and dominate world football for years to come
Songman
Since we last won the title there has been 18 seasons where we havnt managed to accumulate 70 points for the entirety of the season.
We’ve hit the 70point mark in January.
8 more wins and it’s mathematically impossible to lose it.
Guess what that 8th game is?
City 😃
