Man Utd only need small cash offer with reserve star bait for 99-goal ace

Brahim Diaz, Alex Telles

Juventus are reportedly keen on a deal to sign Alex Telles this summer – and it’s claimed they will sacrifice Paulo Dybala to get the deal done.

The Argentine forward has notched just four goals in an injury-hit campaign for the Bianconeri. With that in mind, and the fact that Dybala will be out of contract in the summer of 2022, Juve are looking to cash in on on their top stars at the end of the current season.

The Serie A giant’s sporting director Pavel Nedved recently dismissed talk of coach Andrea Pirlo and Cristiano Ronaldo moving on, However, he appeared to leave the door open to Dybala’s potential exit, with Liverpool also recently linked.

“We miss Paulo, he would have guaranteed us different attacking options and goals,” Nedved told DAZN.

“He has a contract for one more year and I have nothing more to add to what [CEO Fabio] Paratici and president [Andrea] Agnelli have already said.

“But it is clear that at Juventus we evaluate every business opportunity.”

As such, reports have stated that they could allow Dybala to leave for just £39m this summer.

Despite seemingly circulating his name though, Juve are yet to receive any concrete proposals for the player.

In light of that Calciomercato reports that the Old Lady are set to contact Manchester United over a potential swap. The Italian outlet claims that the player in Juve’s sights is Alex Telles.

The Brazilian was signed in a £15.6m deal last October but has struggled to make a big impression at Old Trafford. His arrival appears to have sparked a major upturn in form for Luke Shaw. Indeed, former Porto man Telles has been limited to just 20 appearances in all competitions.

Despite that, Calciomercato claims Juve will try and bring him to Turin with Dybala going the other way. As part of the alleged proposal, United would need just a cash adjustment of around £20m, in addition to Telles, to land Dybala.

However, Dybala may need to reign in his salary demands if he’s to move to Old Trafford. They claim he’s currently on a package worth £237,000 a week at Juventus and would need to lower those demands to join the Red Devils.

Dybala has scored 99 goals in 250 appearances for Juve during his six years at the club.

Dybala tipped to replace Firmino

Dybala has also been linked with a move to Liverpool.

Indeed, pundit Paul Robinson has claimed the Argentine would be the ideal replacement for the misfiring Roberto Firmino.

“Dybala is a world-class player, what a signing he would be,” Robinson told Football Insider.

“He would be a massive addition to any squad.

“It is very hard to find players who can join or disrupt Liverpool’s front three.

“They have misfired this year but [Diogo] Jota has come in and has forced Jurgen Klopp’s hand into playing all four of them at times.”

Robinson also insists that freshening up the attack must be something being considered by Liverpool this summer.

“The front three are not invincible, they have been nowhere near the level of performance of previous years. So someone like Dybala coming in would add another dimension.

“Liverpool should go for him because he is capable of playing across the front line. He would be a great option as a false nine. He would be phenomenal in that Firmino role.”
