Man Utd star had £20k wager with team-mate over Mourinho sacking – report
Alexis Sanchez reportedly sent a WhatsApp message to his Manchester United team-mates over Jose Mourinho’s sacking.
Mourinho was sacked on Tuesday morning after a poor run of results that saw United win only two of his final eight matches in charge in all competitions.
The 3-1 loss to arch-rivals Liverpool on Sunday left the Red Devils 11 points off the top four and 19 points adrift of Jurgen Klopp’s men, who occupy the Premier League summit.
The Portuguese boss fell out with a number of players during his time at the club, with his reputation in the dressing room rumoured to be at an all-time low towards the end of his stay.
And The Sun claims that Sanchez sent a message to a group WhatsApp that contained a number of his United team-mates claiming to have won a private bet with Rojo on Mourinho’s sacking.
The Chilean, who reportedly earns £505,000-a-week, now reportedly wants £20,ooo off his fellow South American team-mate for correctly predicting Mourinho’s demise.
Sanchez is said to have messaged the group saying: “I told you so!! Patience is all it takes. Rojo you owe me £20k.”
The 30-year-old joined the Red Devils from Arsenal a year ago and has failed to hit the ground running at Old Trafford with only one goal in 12 appearances this season.
It’s a long way from the form he showed at the Emirates Stadium where he was one of the Gunners key men, knocking in almost a goal every two matches.
