Manchester United could explore the possibility of signing Callum Hudson-Odoi this summer, claims a report.

The winger has struggled for form and game time this season, having been limited to just seven Premier League starts. While he has featured 31 times this season, the majority of those have been off the bench.

As a result, it’s claimed Chelsea could look to offload Hudson-Odoi this summer.

Now the Daily Express claims the 19-year-old could come under Manchester United’s transfer radar. Citing the Manchester Evening News, they claim Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is a big admirer of the player and that he ‘ticks all the boxes’ for the Norwegian.

It’s claimed that, as a young English player with huge potential he fits the criteria of star that Solskjaer wants.

The article goes on to suggest that United have considered Hudson-Odoi in the past. Furthermore, it’s claimed the Red Devils could look to launch a fresh approach this summer in summer in addition to Jadon Sancho.

A deal to sign Sancho remains top of their agenda this summer. United are said to be increasingly confident of landing the Borussia Dortmund man.

Furthermore, United are set to have agreed on an iconic shirt number with the player.

Unlike so many sides this summer, United do appear ready to spend big in the transfer market.

Speaking after United’s 2-0 win over Leicester last week that secured Champions League football, Gary Neville called on the club to back Solskjaer.

He told Sky Sports: “I think it’s a big day for Ole, it gives him some peace and demonstrates progress.

“They can play a different way now, they were very basic in his first six months.

“With [Mason] Greenwood emerging and [Bruno] Fernandes, they look like they can win games in different ways.

“They need more players in their squad. The last time they finished in the top four was under Jose Mourinho and they spent £170million in that summer and didn’t invest it wisely.

“They need to invest it again but do it properly this time to get nearer to Liverpool and City. They need to improve the first XI. That’s not a detriment to the first XI from today.

“It’s about making sure they get in players who want to play for the club. United have never really done that.

“Ole seems to have brought that back in the past 12 months and it’s working, it’s better.”

Jimenez to United denials

Another man United have been linked with is Wolves striker Raul Jimenez.

Jimenez has enjoyed his most prolific season to date in 2019-20, scoring 26 goals in all competitions.

That has enhanced claims he is being monitored by United over a potential deal.

Portuguese broadcaster RTP even claimed Jimenez is “on his way” to Old Trafford this summer, with a deal agreed.

However, the MEN has dismissed the speculation, explaining Solskjaer’s focus is on other areas of the side. Read more here…
