Man Utd target 30-year-old former Newcastle forward with time running out

Former Newcastle striker Salomon Rondon is a late transfer target for Manchester United, according to a report.
The Times claim that after United missed out on Erling Haaland and AC Milan striker Krzysztof Piatek, who is set move to Hertha Berlin, United officials have sounded out a move for the 30-year-old.
Rondon, who has scored 35 Premier League goals in 140 games for Newcastle and West Brom, “could be available on loan” from China, per the source.
Rondon moved to Dalian Yifang to join up with Rafa Benitez last summer, but after the Chinese Super League cancelled the start date of the new season because of the escalation of the coronavirus epidemic, the player, as well as numerous other foreign imports could be offloaded.
A new start date has not been announced yet for the league.
United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer admitted after last night’s win at Man City that he was looking to add a striker who would “break his nose to score”.
But with Marcus Rashford sidelined for up to three months with a stress fracture of the back, Solskjaer is still keen to add more goals before the window shuts at 11pm Friday.
