Man Utd target Fabinho cools talk of summer switch

Reported Manchester United target Fabinho says he is unlikely to leave Ligue 1 side Monaco in the near future.

The right back was linked with a move to Old Trafford last summer before eventually signing a new deal with Monaco, committing himself to the club until 2021, though that hasn’t stopped talk of a move being negotiated next summer instead.

However, the Brazilian appears to have cooled that talk, telling L’Equipe that he feels settled in France

“I could have already done it, but I’m under contract here,” he said, when asked if he would be leaving next summer.

“I feel good here. I’m an important player in one of the best teams in the league.”

A right back is high on Jose Mourinho’s list of transfer priorities, with Matteo Darmian very very much out of favour and reported to be heading back to Italy in January.
