Jack Grealish Aston Villa TEAMtalk

Conor Hourihane insists that Jack Grealish is ‘too good’ for Aston Villa and backed the England hopeful to earn a move away from Villa Park.

Villa skipper Grealish has been in superb form this season with seven goals and six assists in 26 Premier League starts, as he tries to keep his boyhood club in the Premier League.

That form has attracted plenty of interest from other clubs, with Manchester United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer known to be a big admirer of the 24-year-old.

The Red Devils are being strongly tipped to make a move for the playmaker this summer, with some report suggesting that they are ready to pay up to £70million to get their man – despite some pundits claiming it would not be a good move.

And Hourihane, who plays alongside Grealish in Villa’s midfield, admits his teammate has outgrown his current club.

“He’s top, top class. In terms of pure ability and sheer skill and technique level he’s easily the best player I’ve played with to date,” Hourihane told the Southern Star’s podcast, as reported by Birmingham Live.

“He’s just got that gift. He runs quicker with the ball, when he faces someone up you’re in real trouble. He’s skipping by the best players in this league so easily.

“He’s developed over the three years I’ve been here – he’s taken his game to a new level – especially this year in the Premier League.

“He’s taken it by storm really. You know, England team and getting that big move is only a matter of time because, if I’m being brutally honest, he’s too good for our team at Aston Villa.”

Jack Grealish to be deployed in unexpected role for Man Utd – report

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has earmarked a surprise positional change for Jack Grealish at Manchester United, should the Red Devils succcesfully manage to prise Aston Villa’s prized asset to Old Trafford this summer.

Grealish has scored nine goals and eight assists in the Premier League this term and has often been the source of his side’s goals throughout the campaign.

The 24-year-old has long been linked with United, with reports suggesting that Red Devils boss Solskjaer has placed him high on his list of summer targets as he looks to sign the player and form a dream attacking midfield partnership with Bruno Fernandes.

And with talk of a move to Old Trafford gathering pace, a report in The Athletic claims Solskjaer has already decided to deploy Grealish in a less-than-familiar role should the deal go through. Read more…
