Man Utd reportedly want to make three more signings after they have sealed a move for Ajax midfielder Donny van de Beek.

The Red Devils are closing in on a £35.7m (€40m) plus add ons move for the Dutchman, who is set to sign a five-year deal at Old Trafford.

The dynamic midfielder, who was also wanted by Real Madrid, has scored 40 goals over the past three seasons.

Van de Beek will become Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s first signing of the summer, but the Norwegian wants more on board.

The Times claims that Solskjaer ‘wants to add another three players this summer, including a centre back, a right winger and a striker, meaning he will need to trim his squad.’

Red Bull Leipzig defender Dayot Upamecano remains a major option for United. Juventus Douglas Costa, meanwhile, is a cheaper alternative to Dortmund winger Jadon Sancho.

As for a new striker, the latest name linked with an Old Trafford switch is RB Salzburg striker Patson Daka.

Andreas Pereira, Jesse Lingard, Chris Smalling, Diogo Dalot, Marcos Rojo, Phil Jones and Sergio Romero are the most likely casualties of any Old Trafford cull.

The arrival of Bruno Fernandes has made Pereira a fringe player once again. He played just 62 minutes of football after the restart.

Lingard, meanwhile, is wanted by West Brom, Leicester, Everton and Newcastle. The 27-year-old has already hinted at a move by admitting he needs first-team football.

Smalling, Roja, Jones and Dalot are also set to leave, with the former still wanted by Roma after an impressive season in Serie A.

Romero, meanwhile, has been strongly linked with a move to Premier League rivals Everton and Leeds.

UNITED PLOTTING ULTIMATE LIVERPOOL HIJACK

Man Utd will aim to pull a fast one over bitter rivals Liverpool by swooping in for long-time Reds target Thiago Alcantara, according to reports.

The Spaniard, 29, has been the subject of continued speculation regarding his next career step.

The Bayern midfielder made it clear he would be on the move this summer. Indeed, he refused to pen a new deal with the European champions.

For the longest time, Anfield appeared to be the likeliest destination. However, Jurgen Klopp’s side have yet to lodge an official offer.

However, Old Trafford could now be Thiago’s next home, according to The Sun.
