Man Utd to impose basketball ban on Paul Pogba

Manchester United are set to hire a running coach for Paul Pogba and ban him from playing basketball, according to Tuttosport.

The Italian paper claims United are so desperate to get the France midfielder back into action that they will impose strict rules on the 24-year-old.

Pogba picked up a hamstring injury last month and has been sidelined ever since. The midfielder picked up the problem during the Champions League win over Basel in September and initial reports claimed he would only be out for a month or so.

Jose Mourinho though conceded the injury was ‘long-term’ last month although talk of a three-month lay-off was dismissed by the Portuguese boss.

Now the Italian source claims Pogba could make his return after Christmas and Mourinho and United are now trying to do everything they can to speed up his recovery.

They report that sources close to the club have told them United “could hire a running coach to adjust the Frenchman’s running posture”. United officials are sure his ungainly style is one of the main reasons behind his latest injury.

The club are also going to ban Pogba from playing basketball, one of Pogba’s favourite pastimes. Club medics again believe the movements while playing basketball and not good for Pogba’s posture and may be putting him at more risk of incurring injuries

Pogba has been in Miami this week as he steps up his recovery and the former Juve man has posted several videos giving fans an insight into his rehabilitation.
