Manchester United will need to pay £86m if they want to sign RB Salzburg striker Erling Braut Haaland, according to reports in Italy.
The 19-year-old’s penalty against Napoli on Tuesday evening took his tally for the season to 23 goals in 17 appearances in all competitions, with his latest goal his seventh in the Champions League after four games.
United have been linked with making a move for a striker with Haaland said to be on their shortlist, but according to Italian outlet Tuttosport, Salzburg have said they will accept £86m for his services.
The source adds that the Austrian outfit aren’t willing to budge on that valuation, which could make life difficult for other clubs – namely Juventus – who are also linked.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s United looked like they had rediscovered goalscoring form in their 3-1 win over Norwich – with Anthony Martial’s return from injury looking like it played a big part – but the same problems in front of goal reoccurred in the 1-0 loss to Bournemouth last weekend.
