Jadon Sancho is a perfect signing for Manchester United and that is why Ed Woodward reportedly has the Borussia Dortmund star at the top of his summer shopping list.
United, claim the Daily Express wanted the former Man City man last summer, but because they missed out on the Champions League they signed Dan James from Swansea.
This summer Woodward wants to get his man and the Manchester Evening News report that £100m-rated Sancho “ticks every box imaginable” for the club.
The 19-year-old’s profile fits with what United are trying to build at Old Trafford. He is young, a marquee name and one of the best young talents in the game.
Woodward also wants to sign the teenager because of his stature as a home-grown talent, even though he came through the ranks across the city at Manchester City.
Sancho has been sensational for Dortmund since joining the Bundesliga side in the summer of 2018.
The England international has scored 14 goals and registered 15 assists in the Bundesliga this season and Owen Hargreaves thinks he would be a perfect for United alongside Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial and Bruno Fernandes.
“It’s not about quantity, it’s about quality” Hargreaves told Premier League Productions (via Goal).
“If you can have a Jadon Sancho – they need a right winger – Sancho playing off the right would make a huge difference.
“[Jude] Bellingham is 16 or 17, he’s going to be a super player but you need someone right now.
“I think they need an Ndidi type, a defensive sitter. If you have [Paul] Pogba and [Bruno] Fernandes then I think you need a defensive one there.
“I think they also need a left-sided centre-back.
“They have [Victor] Lindelof, [Harry] Maguire, [Eric] Bailly but a left-sided centre-back would make a big difference.”
