Perisic deal not dead as Man Utd target two more arrivals

Manchester United are reportedly set to make another attempt to sign Inter Milan winger Ivan Perisic this week.

Jose Mourinho is keen on bringing in at least one more new addition before the window shuts on August 31 and has not ended his pursuit of Perisic, according to M.E.N. Sport.

The United chief is also keen on bringing in a new left-back, with the Old Trafford club also expressing an interest in Tottenham star Danny Rose.

Former Leeds full-back Rose is said to be keen on a return north after six months out with a knee injury, although he has a contract with Spurs until 2021 and would command a hefty fee.

As for Perisic, there have been no further developments in his potential switch to United since Inter were out in China for their pre-season tour in mid-July.

United had instead switched their focus on the slim possibility of bringing Gareth Bale back to England, but Mourinho ruled that move out after the Welshman started Tuesday’s night’s win over the Red Devils in the Super Cup.

It would now seem that Mourinho has now switched his attention back to Perisic, although Inter are still said to want Anthony Martial as part of any deal for the Croatian attacker and that could prove to be a real stumbling block.
