Man Utd smacked of ‘unbelievable arrogance’ in Sancho saga, says insider

Jadon Sancho

A ‘close source’ has reportedly described Manchester United’s stance in their hunt for Jadon Sancho as displaying “unbelievable arrogance”.

United had Sancho as their top transfer target in the recent window but did not end up signing the winger.

Indeed, despite agreeing personal terms it was the 20-year-old’s £108million fee that stood in the way of a deal.

But despite United persevering until late in the window, Borussia Dortmund had set an original deadline of August 10th for United to make their move.

And, according to Stretty News, a ‘close source’ said that the Red Devils’ stance showed “unbelievable arrogance and ignorance”.

United faced mounting frustration from fans on social media throughout the window to get the deal over the line. Reports late in the window claimed that the Old Trafford club topped €100million with a bid.

However, Dortmund stood firm and Sancho stayed put. The England international has since suffered a dip in form, something which he has insisted was not because of the failed transfer.

Despite United’s recent missed opportunity, though, recent reports have suggested that they will try again next summer.

The Red Devils will reportedly present a new offer to Dortmund in the hope of tempting them into doing business. Indeed, Sancho – by then – will have less time remaining on his contract, increasing the likelihood of his exit.

This time, however, Sancho has reportedly forced Dortmund’s hand into organising new talks with United.

Amid the winger’s domestic struggles, he has flourished on the international stage with two goals during the recent international break.

Injury concern for Solskjaer

Meanwhile, United boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly faces a selection headache ahead of his side’s return to action.

Anthony Martial and Victor Lindelof have both struggled during the recent break and could be out for Saturday’s clash with West Brom.

Captain Harry Maguire also missed training on Thursday due to a foot issue. As such, Lindelof’s absence would be a blow.
