Liverpool fans buzzing with new signing

If he becomes better than De Ligt in 2-3 years then it will be a masterpiece!!

Concern over other transfer movement

Rob, not saying it’s defo happening but I don’t trust statements like that from the club anymore.
Remember what was said re VVD, Allison etc. We now keep our cards close to our chest or even better outright deny having any interest at all.
Why would Edwards phone Lille up outta the blue and tell them we’ve no interest in Pepe? Strange thing to do if ya have no interest in him. That is if it happened at all.

gingerlfc

An article from the echo says we should trust the club even if it means we dont sign anyone.

Looks like we’re being prepared for a quiet transfer window.

Problem for Liverpool now is that to improve the team rather than the squad is very very costly given how good the team is currently and very few players fit the bill.

nine nine nine

We could be without mane and Salah for first few weeks of season if their countries progress well in the summer

We need to add to the squad. Be a mistake if we don’t. We can’t depend on lalanna being a squad member.

I trust klopp. Most definitely but we need to show a bit of ambition even with one big signing and we need cover at left Bach

Sean the sailor

Can we compete City without spending money?? I beleive that the yankees found the chance nto to spend money opposite to City and Arabs…
We do not need players like Fekir but like Fernandes…

Wan-Bissaka= Good signing but overpriced

Good news on Bissaka. Get him signed and move on to the next target – which hopefully we are already some way down the line to signing.

Alfie07

Is he that good worth the 50m or are we paying for his age and nationality?

Zico

good player, already PL proved, only 1 good year but at least you can see its more than potential, he just needs to keep going and improive also, in the current market thats about right even with the british player premium, decent wages also….fans should be happy with this business, i would have bneen had he come to us on the same deal….shame its £10m over our entire budget though bahahahaha

steveosnakeeye

Overpriced for me Zico after only one good season, but I’m afraid it’s the going rate these days. 20 million quiders are all going for 50. It’s a seller’s market mate.

According to former Arsenal and Barcelona player Alexander Hleb, Barca sold Ronaldinho and Deco in 2008 because they were afraid of the potentially bad influence the pair could have on a young Lionel Messi. Both were world class but that didn’t stop Barcelona from getting rid of them for the greater good. I’ve been saying the same about Paul Pogba. Despite the fact that he’s never going to fulfill his potential or be as good as he thinks he is he’s still our best player, at least in theory. His attitude, though, seems rotten to the core but, because of his influence in the dressing room, the young lads are always likely to follow his example.

That’s why we can sign all the best young players in the world – they will never fulfill their potential with the disruptive influence of Pogba and his entourage (Lingard, Martial, Lukaku) around. That’s why we will also sign proper leaders who will stand up and be counted instead of downing tools when the going gets tough. All this talk of Pogba wanting “a new challenge” and playing for a club where he “can win trophies” is utter horsesh*t. Prove you can lead a team to success instead of jumping ship to freeload of others hard work. Still, that’s what he does for France with Kante, Matuidi and even Giroud doing all the work for him and now he wants to find a club where he can enjoy success without an ounce of responsibility.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer TEAMtalk

I’m pleased with the AWB signing but the circumstances sadden me. What should happen is a AWB type should have been signed as heir apparent well before Valencia resigned. Then if he does well, he pushes Valencia out and if he doesn’t he can be moved on and another prospect signed. As it stands he’s coming in and has to deliver from day 1 or the team suffers. Thats unfair on him and the team. Note: Darmian was supposed to be the heir apparent but failed to make the grade yet was not moved on (why we ask).

We are throwing the dice and gambling, if the likes of AWB James make it, we’re laughing, if not we’ll be in a situation like with Bailley and Lindelof where we sign them then end up having to look for top quality CM or field Smalling Jones because they haven’t made the grade.

But with Ole there, I’m all for a gamble. I’ve been arguing for a young tracksuit manager and skipping a generation to assemble a young team that can stay together for a a long time.

Chelsea don’t need Kovacic

Yesterday on Sky they claimed that the value of our returning loanees was somewhere in the region of 300m if you had to buy in the market so in effect the new manager is going to have new players to choose from

not sure how exaggerated those values are but it is very clear that the knowledge that Frank and Jody have of our players, especially the youth, will allow them to make good decisions in terms of bolstering the squad where required. KTBFFH

CFC1905

Is Higuain still with us? Is Kovacic still with us? IMO not clear. I am hoping that our future manager will be appointed ASAP and we all will have a clearer view on everything: the vision, the objectives, the players etc

aindro

Read Higuain is back in Italy and noone wants him, his age and wages are too high.. Kovacic is still under discussion I prefer we don’t keep him transfer ban or not.

Blaze

How on earth is Kovacic worth £45m? don’t we have a negotiating team? that is the biggest rib off since we have splashed £70m for Morata and £40m for Bakayoko, two players who were never useful for the team.and before that was The Shevchenko and Torres story? who ever recommended Kovacic for £45m needs to be asked a hard questions. we can’t be without a plan every summer.

If Mount is returing, Bakayoko is said to be returning, We already have Ampadu who can play in midified, plus Loftus Cheek to return and on top of that Jorginho, Barkley and Kante is in our books. why waste £45m on a player who we have seen contributes almost zero?

Nah, I have to side with Wise-fan on this one I’m afraid. If we spunk £45mil of the Hazard money on Kovacic I’ll be incredibly disappointed. Firstly, we don’t need him. We have an abundance of midfielders, including our own Chelsea boys that are coming through. Secondly, I’ve seen absolutely nothing to suggest he is worth anything near that price. The only thing I will say is that, in the same way people have said Barkley was hampered by SidewaysBall, sorry SarriBall, maybe we haven’t seen the best of Kovacic yet? Maybe he can offer more going forward than he previously has shown? But really, I’m clutching at straws to try to justify this. Hopefully its just media speculation.

Arsenal have no one to sell

Since we have players nobody wants we cant sell. So what will happen if somebody do wants Mustafi for some strange reason then they wait until the very end to get the best deal possible.

There wont be anything of quality coming in because we cant afford any player. If we do try they will just set the amount requsted above £40m and we are dead in the water i think even £30 m will make us walk away.

What we will get this summer are young prospects only.

muffler_1

I think I’ve lost the point of this thread. So back to transfers – I think I said in an earlier post that we need to get more money into the kitty. Problem is this, no-one will pay for Ozil or Miki. So that’s a dead end. We cannot afford to lose either frontman and it really pisses me off that these rumours about Auba to united are gathering pace. I can imagine it happening with our sh*t show of a SLT. Next up, we hear rumour that Torreira might go to fund players. Again, WTF?! But I could see it happening. To everyone’s point (and this is not to piss you off – TSO) who are the players that, in my opinion, could we lose and replace with internal youngsters. Mustafi (come on he is NOT good enough), Xhaka (I think he is OK but regardless of whether he is captain of Switzerland, or “it’s just not his game”, or he doesn’t hide, it isn’t really working out consistently is it?), Koloscenic (OK but defensively poor and we would have to buy Tierney admittedly), Elneny and Ospina. Unbelievably, in this crazy world, where a mid table club can sell a mid table player for £ 40m I doubt we would get much more than £40m for ALL those players such is the reputation of the bang average Arsenal squad. We have fallen so far down the reputation ladder is f*cking ridiculous.

It makes me laugh when Raul come out with this plan to sell any player who doesn’t commit within 2 year of contract expiry. Nice thought mate, but the sh*tshow of a board made most of the players we want to get rid of unbuyable!

Anyway, I for one really don’t care who we buy, or anyone else for that matter, I’m more interested in what our home grown players can do for us.

I’ve never heard of any of these players that anyone is linked with. Rewind 3 years ago and you would not have had to pay anymore than £10m for them.

Arsenal f*cked chaps, get used to it, re-adjust and just enjoy what you can out of watching the Arsenal and the new bred of youngsters.

Madmaxsdaddy

At this point of time, there’s no point discussing transfer budgets or a new breed of talent.Arsenal have officially become a midtable club. For me, there’s only one movement I care about and that movement is towards kronke. It’s impossible he won’t consider selling Arsenal if he dosen’t see a huge drops in revenues and and inturn the value of his shares.

Every single person so much as going out and buying an Arsenal scarf is responsible for the downfall of this club.Every single person attending a single game is responsible for the downfall of this club.Stop talking and start taking action.Enough is enough. If that’s the language kronke understands so be it.

Give us our Arsenal back.
