Manchester United man Pereira does not fancy January return

Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira says he is not keen on returning to the club in January such is his evolution at Valencia.

Pereira, 21, has been linked with a return to United in the New Year with United missing the creative talents of Paul Pogba, but the midfielder has reiterated his desire to see out his 12-month loan.

Pereira, who signed a new deal before he left for Spain on deadline-day, has played in nine La Liga games for Valencia, who sit second behind Barcelona.

United do have a loan recall clause in Pereira’s contract in January, but the Belgian-born star is happy in Spain.

“Yes, I want to be here, help Valencia until June. I came with that thought, I know that there is a clause in the contract and now I have to wait to see. But my mind is focused on Valencia and I want to stay here,” Pereira told Super Deporte.

“It is important that I am playing to grow, improve and help Valencia. It would be very difficult to return to United at mid-season and continue with the same evolution that I’m having now here.

“I am well here and I have always though that I made the right decision in the summer. I am very happy and I want to continue in Valencia CF.”

Pereira even suggested that he would like to stay in Valencia beyond the end of the season, saying: “Sure, it’s a very good option for me, it would be positive. I’m happy at Valencia CF.”
