Man United’s hopes of signing Edinson Cavani appear to have been dashed after the PSG striker confirmed his desire to stay at the club.
The Uruguayan only recently spoke of his admiration for the Premier League, which would have alerted the Red Devils as they look to strengthen their squad in the summer, but he now hopes he can remain with the French champions for the foreseeable future.
“My stats are good,” he told Telefoot. “But this is not what concerns me most. What interests me is that PSG can win and be champions.
“I want to stay in Paris. I am doing very well here and I love this city so I think all conditions will be there to extend.
“I had a meeting with the president and I hope that it will happen.”
The 29-year-old has been in wonderful form this season, scoring 18 goals in Ligue Un in as many games, while he has bagged a further six in six Champions League appearances.
