Manuel Pellegrini says West Ham’s transfer business is complete following the signing of Swiss striker Albian Ajeti for £8m earlier today.

The 22-year-old agreed a four-year deal on Thursday morning, taking West Ham’s number of summer recruits to six.

Ajeti completed Pellegrini’s summer spending, following the arrivals of Sebastien Haller, midfielder Pablo Fornals, defender Goncalo Cardosa and goalkeepers Roberto and David Martin.

Haller and Fornals were the gems of the Argentine’s recruitment drive, arriving for £45 million from Eintracht Frankfurt and £24 million from Valencia respectively.

Now the Hammers boss has confirmed that there will be no late deadline day drama in east London.

He said: “I’m happy because we have completed the squad in the way we wanted.

“We have two players in each position and the best way is to have competition. We have done what we needed.”
