Paul Pogba staying at Manchester United is the best scenario for both parties, insists Mark Bosnich.

Pogba’s agent Mino Raiola has confirmed that Man Utd will not be selling the midfielder this summer, after he was linked with Juventus and Real Madrid.

In fact, Pogba will sit down for talks over a new contract at Old Trafford. His current deal expires next year, although United have the option to extend it by another 12 months.

It now seems likely that the Frenchman could extend his stay in Manchester even beyond then. And that can only be a positive, says former goalkeeper Bosnich.

“I think it’s tremendous news, and I’ve said this all along,” Bosnich told Sky Sports.

“I know it’s a divisive subject. There’s quite a lot that have the opposite opinion to what I’m saying.

“I had this discussion with a Manchester United supporter here in Sydney the other day funnily enough, and he was on the other side. But I just pointed out the fact that first and foremost, if you wanted to replace him, who would you replace him with? How much is it going to cost you?

“And if you are to sell him, how much are you going to take a hit on it?”

Bosnich continued by pointing to Pogba’s medal collection, which could grow further at Old Trafford. That’s because of his quickly developing partnership with Bruno Fernandes.

“The gentlemen in question here in Sydney was going, ‘They’re not going to win anything with him.’

“Well, they’ve already won two trophies with him, and he’s been very successful with Juventus in terms of what he’s won. And we all know he’s won a World Cup winner’s medal.

“And I think the fact that his partnership that we’ve seen with Bruno Fernandes has been fruitful already.

“All goes well for the future and I think he is the future, and I think it’s a really good move for not only him but for Manchester United to keep him at the club.”
