Mata on how Paul Pogba suspension will hurt Man Utd

Juan Mata admitted Manchester United will miss Paul Pogba in Sunday’s derby – but he insists they have the squad to cover him.

Pogba will serve a three-match ban following his dismissal against Arsenal last weekend for a stamp on Hector Bellerin – with the first of those matches coming at arguably the worst possible time as they attempt to see off Manchester City.

Discussing the impact of Pogba’s absence, Mata said: “Yeah, it’s a big miss. He’s a fantastic player.

“He did a fantastic assist (on Tuesday). He’s a very complete midfielder, he can do all things. He will be a big miss but another player will play and try his best.

“I think we have a good squad and have good players to replace any other player. Hopefully we can win for him.”

Mata was also questioned about the possible absence of compatriot David Silva for City, to which he said: “Yeah, we’re not getting into that!”
