McGleish brace~sinks Silkmen

Macclesfield made a perfect start when Martin Gritton’s through ball released Francis Green and he neatly lifted the ball over the advancing Frank Fielding.

Wycombe were level just after the half-hour mark when Adam Murray brought down Matt Bloomfield inside the area and McGleish confidently dispatched the resulting penalty.

McGleish was on target again in the 73rd minute when he converted Russell Martin’s low cross.

He could have grabbed his hat-trick moments later but somehow fired wide from close range with the goal at his mercy.

Wycombe remain unbeaten at home since their 1-0 defeat to Accrington on the opening day of the season.
