Merson thinks Man Utd should sell Pogba for £100m and buy Spurs star

Paul Merson thinks Manchester United should sell Paul Pogba for £100million and buy Mousa Dembele from Tottenham.

Jose Mourinho admitted on Thursday that he was “not confident” of any deadline day signings with a host of centre-backs being linked with the club.

Harry Maguire, Toby Alderweireld and Jerome Boateng appeared to be the main targets with the Red Devils also reportedly making a late bid for Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin.

However, former Arsenal midfielder Merson thinks it is the centre of the park they should be worried about improving and that Dembele would be the perfect signing.

“I’d buy Dembele tomorrow morning,” the Sky Sports pundit said. “He’s one of the best players in the Premier League.

“If I was Man United, I’d sell Pogba tomorrow morning for £100m and buy Dembele. All day long. I think Dembele’s up there with the best of the best.”
