Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp is the perfect man to take over the reigns at Bayern Munich, according to Christoph Metzelder.
Bayern gave the boot to Carlo Ancelotti last week after the German side were thumped 3-0 by Paris Saint-Germain in the Champions League. The Bavarians have had a slow start to their Bundesliga season too and sit five points off the pace in second spot.
The German champions are looking to make an appointment in the international break and former Real Madrid and Dortmund defender Metzelder believes Klopp is “ready to manage” the Bundesliga giants.
“From my point of view, Jurgen Klopp would be ready,” Metzelder told Sky Germany.
“He is a top man-manager and could make the complex power relationship work wonderfully.
“[Julian] Nagelsmann is an outstanding trainer, but Bayern Munich is of course a different size [club to Hoffenheim].”
Former Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has also been linked with the vacant post, but former Bayern star Lothar Matthaus feels that club president Uli Hoeness “favours Nagelsmann”.
Klopp arrived at Liverpool in October 2015 and signed a three-year deal but that was extended to six years last summer, tieing him to ANfield until 2022.
The 50-year-old spent seven years with Bayern’s rivals, Dortmund, and won the Bundesliga title on two occasions and reached the Champions League final – finishing with a win percentage of 56.3%.
