Mexico striker ‘excited’ by Mourinho & Zlatan link-up at Man Utd

Hirving Lozano: Wants move to 'important' Man Utd

Hirving Lozano admits he cannot wait to start working for Jose Mourinho and to link up with Zlatan Ibrahimovic at Manchester United.

Lozano has made 91 league appearances for Pachuca and has seven caps for Mexico, receiving his first call-up in February before going on to feature in the 2018 World Cup qualifiers.

The player has since emerged as a target for United and his club’s vice-president Andres Fassi has confirmed talks are underway between the winger and the Premier League club.

“Already there are negotiations with that team, yes, but there is still nothing finalised,” Fassi told ESPN last weekend.

Since then the Mexico international’s father-in-law has talked up the 20-year-old’s move to Old Trafford and explained it will be finalised following the Rio Olympics.

And Lozano himself has now spoken out about the reports and admitted he is excited by the prospect of playing for United and working with Mourinho and Ibrahimovic.

“It’s good teams like those are looking at me and I think I need to keep doing things well so that teams come watch me do it at international level,” he told Mexican publication ESTO.

“Of course the thought of playing for Manchester United excites me, and I need to give it my all [for the move to happen].”

And when asked about Mourinho and Ibrahimovic, he added: “He’s a great manager and the other is one of the best strikers in the world, but first I need to talk with Pachuca and then we’ll see.”
