Moore has trust of new owners

JPNG’s Pools takeover was announced on Monday to mark a new era for the north-east club and in-coming chairman Gary Coxall has given Moore and Collins his full backing.

“All the good work that is being done by Ronnie, Sam and (chief executive) Russ Green will continue – we’re not here to interfere on the football side,” Coxall told the club’s official website.

“We’ve got a fantastic manager and a fantastic assistant manager so let’s just let them carry on with the football.

“We will support the first team the best that we can – we have total trust and total belief in the management side but to come in with great expectations would be a little early.

“Let’s assess things three or four months in to the season and see where it takes us.”

Coxall refused to set the club any targets for the new season and said JPNG would look at new ways of maximising the commercial revenue.

“The feeling around the town is amazing,” Coxall added.

“The few times we’ve been here you can feel it, you can feel that optimism around the place and you can feel that potentially we could really crack on this year.

“It would be dangerous to say we have to be in a certain position, we just have to do the best that we can.

“We’ll be here to assist the club commercially and improve the matchday experience for the fans. If we can do that then I think we’ll have a recipe for success.”
