Mourinho gives blessing as Man Utd offer key man five-year, £50m deal
Manchester United are planning to table a huge offer in order to keep one of their defenders, according to a report.
The England left-back is out of contract at the end of the season but has been offered new terms after impressing Red Devils boss Jose Mourinho this season.
The former Southampton star’s relationship with Jose Mourinho was almost at rock bottom last season after criticism over the defender’s fitness, but Shaw has been a different player this season and has earned praise from the United chief for turning his career around.
The Sun claims that United will offer Shaw a five-year deal worth a staggering £50million in total.
It is believed that Mourinho is now desperate to tie the 23-year-old down, and will offer wages of £190,000-a-week in order to do so.
The report goes on to state that “the new deal came with Mourinho’s blessing after assessing his left-back options in the summer”.
