Tottenham boss Jose Mourinho has given the green light to sign Fenerbahce striker Vedat Muriqi, claims a report.
Todofichajes report that the Portuguese boss wants to strengthen his forward line, because “he will presumably lose Harry Kane” this summer.
Star striker Kane’s future will likely be speculated on intensely this summer after he recently claimed he would not stay at Spurs “for the sake of it”.
Whether or not the 26-year-old will decide to leave north London this summer is unclear, but a cheap replacement will certainly suit Daniel Levy. And Kosovo international striker Muriqi has become a “priority”, per the source.
That seemed to be well below the mark for the player with Fener placing a £22m price tag on his head after Manchester United reportedly offered that in the January window.
However, the Spanish source say his signing would not cost more than €10m – a figure that Levy would surely look to match, especially if he banked £100m-plus from the sale of Kane.
Muriqi only joined Fenerbahce last year, but having been successful in Turkey he could be set for a quick move – despite his contract still running until 2023.
Reports have previously claimed that he has told Fenerbahce chiefs to allow him to move to England at the end of the season – and those links have now become more specific, with Fanatik (via Sport Witness) recently claiming he was desperate to join Tottenham.
