Morgan Schneiderlin: Joins Everton

Man United boss Jose Mourinho has said Morgan Schneiderlin is “probably” going to Everton after he revealed a deal is “close”.

The French midfielder has been the subject of strong interest from the Toffees after completely falling out of favour at Old Trafford and a deal worth £24million is said to be on the table.

Mourinho told Sky Sports: “Before the match I was informed by Mr [Ed] Woodward that the situation is close, so Morgan is more than probably going to Everton.

“I’m sad, I’m happy,” he said. “I’m sad because I like him, I’m sad because he could be an option for us in the long season.

“I’m happy because this is what he wants, he wants to play, he wants to play every game, he wants to be an important player in the team.

“So if this is what he wants, I’m happy for a very good professional.”

Schneiderlin will now undergo at medical at Everton, where he will join forces once again with his former boss Ronald Koeman.
