Jose Mourinho has claimed that Manchester United fans don’t pay attention to things that are written about the club in newspapers or talked about on television after Tottenham won 3-0 at Old Trafford.
Harry Kane nudged Spurs into the lead only five minutes after the interval before Lucas Moura produced two great finishes to wrap up the match for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
“We worked very well during the week,” Mourinho told Sky Sports. “We prepared very well. We played very well (in training). The players had fantastic attitude.
“At half-time the result should be 2-0 or 2-1 or 3-0 and then something changed the game a little bit and then it was 2-0 (to Tottenham). Everyone could feel that one goal could change the direction of the game. But then the third goal killed the game.
“We worked all week and from the tactical point of view we didn’t lose, but we lost the game.
“But all our fans don’t read papers, all our fans don’t watch television, all our fans are more intelligent than that – they answered in an absolutely amazing way.
“I don’t think it’s normal to lose a game at home and the supporters to react the way they did.”
