Jose Mourinho was unhappy with the result against Celta Vigo on Thursday night despite his side taking a lead back to Old Trafford.
The Red Devils won 1-0 in the first leg of their Europa League semi-final clash with Celta Vigo thanks to a stunning free-kick goal from Marcus Rashford on 67 minutes.
United missed a few good opportunities to go ahead in the first period and Mourinho would have preferred to take a more comfortable scoreline back to Manchester.
“I am very pleased with the performance but not with the result,” said Mourinho following the victory in Spain.
“At half time should have been three or at least two but the result is open.
“We played well enough to have result closed but we have to go and play at Old Trafford.
“Let’s hope Old Trafford want us to win because when Old Trafford wants it, we win.”
On the development of Rashford, Mourinho added: “Marcus Rashford is a 19-year-old kid who is in love with football. He stays after training for half an hour to practice taking free kicks and waits for the opportunity.
“He works and works and works so we can forget his age.
“He started the game with a little problem and with all the running he was feeling it.
“We tried to win the match but we missed chances but team played well, they were compact against a team who are difficult to play against.”
