Inter standing firm despite Mourinho stepping up €80m defender bid

Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is reportedly ready to step up his interest in top defensive target Milan Skriniar.
Mourinho is after a new-centre back as he prepares to offload flop Victor Lindelof, while are also doubts over the long-term futures of Marcos Rojo, Chris Smalling and Phil Jones at Old Trafford.
Inter Milan signed Skriniar from Sampdoria for €23million last summer and his brilliant campaign has seen his value rocket to an incredible €80m.
The Nerazzurri, however, are determined to hang on to the player and have absolutely no intention to sell.
Skriniar, who has also been linked with Liverpool and Barcelona, recently revealed his happiness in Milan when he spoke about the transfer speculation.
The 23-year-old Slovakia star said: “The transfer market? I don’t know the market and I don’t even talk about it, maybe Barcelona or other clubs are interested in me, but again, I’m not interested in this”.
However, the latest reports suggest that Mourinho has turned to Skriniar after so far drawing a blank in his efforts to land Toby Alderweireld from Tottenham.
