Mourinho chasing sensational €70m striker to partner with Harry Kane

Jose Mourinho wants Tottenham to sign prolific Borussia Dortmund striker Erling Haaland this summer, claims a report in Spain.

Dubious outlet Don Balon have reported that Mourinho has “recommended” to Daniel Levy that Spurs go after the Norway frontman in the summer.

The 19-year-old striker, who was wanted by Manchester United in January, only moved to Dortmund from Red Bull Salzburg in the January transfer window after blasting 28 goals for the Austrian side.

Borussia Dortmund snapped up Haaland in January after paying his release clause of €22.5m and the young striker has gone on to score 12 goals for the Bundesliga side.

It’s no wonder that Mourinho is looking at the striker, whose release clause is believed to be €70m. The Portuguese coach also wants Haaland to partner Harry Kane and will not try and sign him as a replacement

“Mourinho not only wants to retain Harry Kane for one more season, he also wants to join him with Haland for an attack with excess power,” reads the report, translated from Spanish.

Spurs will face competition for Haaland, if the report proves correct, with Marca recently claiming Real Madrid have an interest in the player.

The report claims Real and the agent Mino Raiola, who represents both Paul Pogba and Haaland, remain on good terms due to the continued contact between Raiola and the club regarding Pogba.

But the Spanish daily claims Real now have no plans to recruit Pogba, but instead will continue to speak to Raiola about making a huge offer to sign sensational Dortmund striker Haaland.
