Sheffield Wednesday have signed Izzy Brown on a season-long loan from Chelsea.
The 23-year-old won promotion with Huddersfield in 2017. He enjoyed a stint with Luton last season. Previously, Brown has also turned out for West Brom, Rotherham, Brighton and Leeds in England.
Brown is the Owls’ third signing of the summer, joining Fisayo Dele-Bashiru and Chey Dunkley.
Brown’s deal at Stamford Bridge expires next summer, meaning he is now effectively playing for his future.
In seven years at the club, Brown has clocked up just one appearance in Chelsea colours.
Chelsea handed Declan Rice fee warning
West Ham have every right to value Declan Rice at a British record fee amid interest from Chelsea.
However, former Hammers striker Frank McAvennie reckons West Ham have undervalued Rice. He believes any deal should match the record fee for a British star – the £80m Manchester United paid last summer for Harry Maguire.
“You’re talking about £80m for Harry Maguire,” he told Football Insider.
“I think that if he’s worth that then West Ham will be thinking that Declan’s worth somewhere between £60m to £80m.”
